Welcome to our Italian workshops
It is in a workshop located near Naples that our collections are manufactured. Specialized in luxury leather goods, this workshop was created in the early 1980's by Dino Levorino, a leather craftsman well known in Italy for his know-how. We are in daily contact with his son Gennaro to discuss the production and to think about the development of new models.
More than a workshop, they are true partners who believe in our project, in our products and in our vision of the brand Léo et Violette since the first days of the brand.
1. The cutting of the leather
The first step in making a bag is to carefully select the skins used and then cut out the different panels of the bag by hand, taking into account the natural characteristics of the leather.
2. The assembly and Slice dyes
The pieces are positioned between them with the help of a glue. This is a delicate operation, as the pieces must be positioned exactly as the pattern indicates. Any excess must be removed by hand to avoid unsightly overflows. The assembled bag is sewn together. The raw leather slices are all colored by hand. A particularly long and meticulous process.
4. Metal parts
Finally are added the snaps, metal decorations and other ornaments that make the aesthetics of the bag.
5. The finishing touches
Finishing is the operation that finishes the making of the leather bag. The craftsmen then track down the slightest irregularities and other small defects with their expert eye.
6. The packaging
The accessory is then prepared for shipping. The preparer places padding to create volume and wraps it in tissue paper.
A teamwork
In total, the design of a bag involves many hours of work and more than a dozen craftsmen. This meticulous, manual and artisanal work is what makes each piece of leather goods you find at Léo et Violette unique.
